  • The ENHS Marching Band is an award-winning musical ensemble consisting of students from grades 9 through 12. The Band performs frequently at football games, parades, and competitions.

    Students will improve instrumental skills as well as acquire skills in teamwork, musicianship, and marching excellence. Attendance at rehearsals and performances is required.

    Summer activities include summer Mondays (evening rehearsal and social time), the July 4th parade, and band camp (July/August). Band camp attendance is mandatory. Summer Monday and parade participation is expected when students are in town.

  • Color Guard is a part of the ENHS Marching Band whose members represent the music visually, with various flags, sabers, rifles, or other props.

    Color Guard members are required to attend all mandatory Marching Band functions and class sessions. The marching “season” lasts from August until early-November. marching season, students may continue by participating in Winter Guard.

    Winter Guard is a fine arts performance activity open to ALL Edmond North students. It incorporates dance, peformance, and utilizing implements such as flags, rifles, and sabres.

  • The band receives no funding from the school or school district to cover transportation to performances, contest fees, props, uniform updates, and fees for additional instructional staff members.

    Fees for the 2024-2025 school year are:

    New Member - $600

    Returning Member - $500

    Color Guard - $600

    Percussion - Band Fee + $75

    Fees may be paid in full or in installments, as follows:

    Before Thursday May 23 - $200

    Before Thursday, Aug 1 - $200

    Before Friday, Sept 6 - $100

    Before, Tues, Oct 1 - Remaining Balance

  • Auditions are not required for participation unless a new student was not enrolled in band the previous year. A placement audition is held for the percussion section.  A clinic and audition is used for the Color Guard and Winter Guard. Placement auditions will be held for concert bands. Auditions will also be required for Jazz Band.

  • Marching experience is not required of anyone interested in becoming a member of the band. We understand that there is no marching in middle school. We train you on marching technique during summer activities and at band camp.

  • Band Camp at Edmond North is the time when entire band meets together to learn how to march, play, and perform the music and visuals for the upcoming season’s marching show. At camp, students meet new friends, learn marching and playing fundamentals, start learning the marching show, and have a concentrated time for music, with no outside distractions. The students form friendships with each other, at all grade levels, making them feel welcome before summer ends and high school starts. Band camp takes place at Edmond North High School. Students will bring their own water and lunch. The parent organization will provide support as needed.

  • Marching season starts with band camp in late July and typically lasts until the early November. Our last marching contest typically takes place the last week of October.

  • During marching season, rehearsal will begin around 7am and last through first hour. Mandatory Tuesday evening rehearsals are from 5pm-8pm. Section leaders may call sectionals as they feel necessary.

    The band performs and plays in the stands at all home football games, any Edmond games, and possibly one away game . Students will remain at school after classes and will stay until dismissed at the end of the football game. Dinner will be provided.

    During concert season, most rehearsals will be during first hour. Occasionally, directing staff will require additional rehearsals.

  • The marching band and color guard will participate in approximately 4 competitions. Plan for these to be on a Saturday.
    A specific schedule will provided by the band staff before any event. All members meet at the school, dressed in dri-fit shirt, dri-fit shorts, and marching shoes. The trucks and buses are loaded, and the caravan heads to the competition destination. Once at the competition site, we will be assigned a specific “camp” for the day and the trucks and buses are unloaded. The band and color guard will warm up and then perform in preliminary competition. As time permits, students will watch other bands perform. The band will attend the preliminary awards ceremony as a group.
    Should the band advance to finals performance, the directing staff will provide an evening schedule to include dinner, warm-ups and finals performance times.
    The parent organization will provide meals for competition day for students, staff, and volunteers. Families should plan for this to be an all-day event, possibly starting very early in the morning and lasting until very late at night.

  • Early communication with the band director is essential to work out possible schedule conflicts. The band directing team asks that all conflicts be communicated in writing (email is fine) at least 2 weeks in advance of the event. Students are able to participate in both band and outside activities such as scouts, ROTC, and sports.

  • As an organized booster club (registered 501(c)(3)), the parents and guardians in the Edmond North Band Booster Parents Organization serve as responsible adults on band trips, plan and implement contest logistics, distribute uniforms, help with props, feed the band and assist with much-needed fundraising for the band, just to name a few duties. The Band Parents Organization provides support for the band and color guard program at ENHS. Membership is free and open to all parents and guardians.

    All parents and guardians are asked to volunteer a minimum of one time time during the school year. We cannot provide this much needed support without you!

  • Charms is a software tool used to track finances, uniforms, band lockers, etc. It is also the communication tool used to send group emails. Each student has a Charms account. Students and parents can verify their individual fundraising proceeds in Charms. These funds can be used to pay for band fees, trips, or any other band costs.

  • Email our treasurer at treasurer@enhsband.com; provide her the name of the student, how much you wish to use and for what purpose. She will make the payment on the student’s behalf.

  • Band staff will send a weekly email on Mondays with information for students and parents. Directors will also communicate with students using the “Band” app. Parents will receive valuable information from staff and ENBB at the monthly ENBB meetings.

  • Every year a T-shirt is designed to match the theme of the marching show. Each student will receive one, paid with their band fees. Parents will have a one-time chance to order a shirt. This is a great way to support the band and show some ENHS Band spirit at contest.

  • The alternate uniform is used for special performances where we will not be wearing the official performance uniform. The alternate uniform includes the 3/4 zip navy shirt, white cap and grey shorts. Click Here For Picture

  • The Dry Fit uniform is used during performances and are to be worn under the official performance uniform. This makes it easy to change in and out of the performance uniform while also making it easy to identify who the members of the ENHS band are. There are 2 options: The primary option is the dri-fit shirt with the new grey alternate uniform shorts and black socks.
